Studio Fuse is a new space run by Tanya
Kirouac and Robyn Drage in Toronto’s
historic Distillery District. The gallery is showcasing emerging
and mid-career contemporary Canadian artists in a range of
styles and mediums.
From time to time, part of the space is also a working artist
studio, surrounded by other artists and craftspeople working
and showing in the dynamic Case Goods building.
Tanya Kirouac uses wax and oil pigments in the ancient encaustic
process/medium to form and carve the hills and valleys
of each vision. Experimenting with a variety of techniques,
waxes and tools keeps the process fresh and opens up the
road to personal and artistic evolution.
Robyn Drage uses her Seasons Patterns series to explore
our need to reshape, rework, redefine the natural systems
around us. Strong, flat colour landscapes redefine natural
trees patterns and reflect our desires to understand, interact
with and control the world around us.
