The story of the narrative project goes something like this...

home is where i take my pants offThe narrative project is collective storytelling. I send out a theme or a spark and then build art pieces from the responses.

It is as much about the process of art making, community and collaboration as the finished piece(s). It is about connecting people, sharing experiences and perspectives, and leaving room for the unexpected. It is sometimes funny, heartbreaking, banal, profound, absurd.

I collect stories through a blog, email, facebook, post, and old fashioned face-to-face meetings. Social media dissolves physical distances but also often solicits an honesty that is surprising and exciting. I then use drawing, painting, printmaking, collage, and installation to weave the story threads together and create the final piece(s). Some of the pieces are exhibited initially “unfinished” and require gallery goers to add to the piece during the exhibition.

Chapter 3: Feels like Home
This one was sparked by my latest move back to BC after eight years of travel and collecting pieces of home from different places all over the world.

For me, if home is meaning and connection, I find home in this place - where our stories mingle, interconnect. The space where we see ourselves reflected in others.

Chapter 4: A Muse
called for ideas and thoughts on A Muse: anything that inspires, evokes strong feelings, or in particular, makes you laugh. Things that bring on that doubling-over, unable to breathe, people passing by think you're nuts kind of laughter.

Chapter 5: Altered Egos
